In Detroit, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across Michigan do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.

Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Detroit follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great hidden gem. You’d never think this quality of a place would be in such a desolate area. Food was excellent. I got the cannelloni di carne and the filling reminded me exactly of something my Italian nonna would make for Christmas. It was very authentic feeling.

I visited Giovanni's Ristorante for the first time and really enjoyed the lasagna, which was the standout of the meal for me. A few of the other items felt a bit underwhelming, especially the bread and salad, and the presentation could use a little more care. Still, the main dish was strong enough to make the visit worthwhile.

First timers. The lasagna was the best that I’ve ever had. The bread was not that great. I think you should change the bread offered. Too hard. The salad needed something more. Skimpy. Presentation not that great. After we were seated..they were setting up extra tables. The gal was shaking the table cloths so HARD and way up high before covering the table next to us…that made a wind. And noise. We were like what the heck….. Check your cameras on 4-24-26… It ruined the experience. Can you make sure your extra overflow tables are set up before any guests with reservations arrive? Thx. And ask your employees not to shake the tablecloths like that? It was so rude. βœ… Our server was extremely knowledgeable on all menu items. Thank you for my complimentary dessert for my birthday. Overall We will give it another try but not running back.

I came into this dining experience knowing it was highly rated, but the unassuming building and entrance didn't initially sell it for me. I'm glad I was very wrong. Starting with the meatballs and calamari for appetizers, both of these dishes were fabulous. The Calamari was tender and flavorful, with a sauce that just enhanced the taste and made it a home run. The meatballs with a ricotta topping and a polenta base were surprisingly delicious. I've never tasted polenta and said, let me eat more of that. The salads caprese and Caesar were amazing. It's a very rare situation where I encounter a salad and devour it as heartily as I would a meal, the caprese was that for me. The delicious tomatoes, balsamic, and basil infused oil tipped this dish into spectacular. The Caesar was also quite good, very well made dressing, and great croutons. Our entrees were the gnocchi in a mushroom cream sauce with an added salmon protein and the lasagna. The lasagna was quite delicious, though not as much of a star as the gnocchi. The gnocchi was melt in your mouth delicious and paired with a perfectly cooked salmon it was a fantastic dish. Our desserts were the tiramisu, cream puff, and grandmoth

Dining d'elegance. Old school Italian fine dining that begins when you enter the building. An experience that is properly paced across multiple courses. It took me way too long to get there but better late than never.
